Does my home liability coverage extend to my dogs?

Speaker 1: Hey guys, Kasey here, and I’m gonna be answering one of your more popular homeowner’s insurance policy questions, which is does my liability coverage extend to pitbulls, German shepherds, Rottweilers and Dobermans?
The answer to your question is yes and no. Some insurance companies right off the bat have a dog breed restriction list. Which means if you have any of the animals on that list, you don’t qualify for coverage with that particular carrier. There are other insurance companies that will write your home policy but exclude coverage for actions resulting from your dogs entirely. There’s really no reason to be with one of these carriers because we represent several insurance companies that will extend your full liability limit of coverage to any incidents resulting out of your animals.
